Values-Centered Leadership: Insights from Schools that Underperform

There is an arguable deterioration of values in school leadership, which influences the performance schools. Underperformance attributed to a deficit and neglect values-centered leadership approach. The article reports on study whose aim was investigate perceptions teachers principals role that play leadership. This qualitative three schools sought establish what teachers’ principals’ relation effective were. Data were generated from interviews (n = 15), documents observations thematically analysed. findings revealed informed by practice more desirable than paid lip service values. makes case for improved through focused implementation approach recommends development should dwell into practices are lifting based communication encourages performance.
